Lost photos recovered from data cards!

It happens to most digital camera users every now and then. You know you have images on your memory card, because:  They were there yesterday! I've only just taken them! I looked at them on the camera screen just five minutes ago! I printed some off from the same card just last week! I've taken all of my baby photo's using the same card and I haven't deleted any! But, the print machine in the shop insists your card is empty!

Memory cards get corrupted for a range of reasons. Your camera handbook probably told you to always switch off the camera before removing/inserting the memory card, but ... Switching the camera power off while it's still storing an image can cause problems. Ever use your camera on it's mains power adapter?  Do you switch it off before plugging it in or unplugging it? Ever left a memory card in a reader while starting up or shutting down your computer? Ever had a shop assistant switch a print machine off or on while your memory card was in it? Ever let your nephew have a look at your camera, and told him not to press 'that' button? These things won't always cause a problem, but all of them certainly can! If it happens to you - Don't Panic! Usually, when a memory card get corrupted the digital data is, actually, still right there on the card. If you, or your nephew, accidentally delete images from the card, the digital data is still right there! It's just no longer in a format that you camera, your card reader, or, the print machine in the shop can actually read.
